Vinsak upgrades USAR slitter-rewinder with inkjet unit

VinsakIndia Private Ltd. has upgraded its USAR universal slitter and rewinder with an inkjet unit with UV/IR drying and 100 percent inspection.

Ranesh Bajaj, Director of the Vinsak group, says that adding a variable print capability to a slitter-rewinder opens new business opportunities for MENA converters in the anti-counterfeit market. Vinsak has been able to print a wide variety of non-cloneable codes, generic and proprietary 2D bar codes and unique graphical elements on all kinds of tax stamps, security labels and tamper evident labels. The company has also demonstrated the ability to print on a variety of substrates including paper, film, holographic foil, aluminum blister and carton board, allowing it to be used across many industrial sectors.

The Usar’s inkjet unit utilizes either water-based or UV-cured drop-on-demand print heads with resolutions up to 1200DPI. High build features up to 150 microns can be achieved by jetting with varnish and a range of digital foiling options are also available. The machine comes in widths of 350mm, 450mm and 550mm. As the region’s marketing lead for Avery Dennison’s largest business unit, Pankaj will be responsible for defining the strategic direction for product portfolios, sustainability, and innovation. He will also identify and drive new growth platforms while fostering collaboration across the industry. He will be based out of Singapore.
