Vedi Offset acquires MGI JetVarnish 3D One for new opportunities

Nagpur based Vedi Offset recently acquired the MGI JetVarnish 3D One for digital embellishment applications.

The company which started as a pre-press house in 2000 saw opportunities in digital printing and became the first to offer services in that segment in Nagpur.

Arun Singhania, owner of Vedi Offset says, “We started Vedi Offset with our focus mainly on digital printing. We thought of using current technologies and give something new to uor customers”.

“During and post Covid we have seen a lot of jobs shifting to digital dur to shorter runs. An earlier requirement of thousands has come down to fifties and hundreds. Print-on-Demand with quick turn-around time is the need of today” adds Singhania.

The company today caters to jobs like brochures, menu cards, visiting cards, catalogues among other items with value addition on the new installation on MGI JetVarnish 3D One.

Singhania also says, “Although this is the fourth installation of the press in Nagpur, being in the heart of the city and also in the main printing hub, we are getting a very good response for jobs on the MGI”.

Talking about a particular job segment, printing of certificates got a very big boost with value addition of embellishments in gold and silver facility on the JetVarnish, where their customers were very satisfied.

Vedi Offset has future plans to invest in post-press and finishing equipment like lamination, production of photo albums and also expand their business outside Nagpur into Central india.

Vijay Kamat, Product Manager, Industrial Printing, Konica Minolta India explains, “Our focus is to develop business in new installations and support our customers in marketing to get new jobs for applications on the MGI. We are focussing on getting the right ROI for our existing customers before going in for further installations in that region”.

“Nagpur is a central hub between Delhi and Mumbai. There is a lot of opportunity in areas around Nagpur, particularly in the pharma and cosmetic industry, to provide big business for printing and embellishment for new installations in the future”.

Kamat also feels that with new start-ups, in cities like Raipur, Bhillai, Aurangabad and others, will require right types of printing with value-added special effects. This is where companies like Vedi Offset will get the opportunity to expand their customer base to keep the presses busy.

Being a print technologist himself, an alumni of the Printing Institute at Pune University, Singhania concludes by saying, “I keep watching what is new in the market and what will make my company more profitable. I update with new technologies and keep on developing”.
