SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. showcased a prototype model of its new Truepress PAC520P high-speed, inkjet printing system at FachPack 2022, specifically for printing onto paper-based substrates, using water-based, food-compliant inks for sustainable flexible packaging applications.
According to Screen, the Truepress PAC 520P utilises newly developed proprietary water-based pigment inks that comply with appropriate food-safety regulations. The system is expected to provide both outstanding print quality and safety while maintaining exceptional throughput.
A note from Screen states that, also in its final development stage is the Truepress PAC 830F industrial water-based inkjet digital-printing press for flexible packaging plastic films (PET, BOPP). The first few units are expected to hit the market next year.
The press prints with a speed of 75 meters per minute (4,500 m/h) for materials of up to 830mm wide and a resolution of 1,200 dpi. As flexible as the bags it prints, the press adapts to desirable print runs of under 4,000 meters.
