HP to be the biggest exhibitor

For the first time in drupa history, HP is the largest single exhibitor with 6,200 sqm area occupying the entire hall 17 at the show. In keeping with the evolving landscape of drupa, HP will display its latest technology for the general commercial printing segment, in addition to new hardware and solutions for labels and packaging, largeformat and sign and display application areas that demonstrate how HP digital print technology enables print service providers (PSPs) to reinvent their possibilities.

HP will debut three wideformat Latex Printers. The HP Latex 500 Printer series and HP Latex 1500 Printer, helping medium-to-large sign and display print service providers (PSPs) enhance productivity and pursue application growth areas at an affordable cost of entry. Designed for medium-to-large PSPs with increasing print volumes, the new 64-inch HP Latex 560 and 570 Printers enable customers to manage a variety of print jobs and peaks in production at a low upfront investment.

Building on the success of the proven HP Latex 3000 Printer series, the 3.2-metre HP Latex 1500 Printer offers a robust, affordable super-wide printing solution, providing fast turnarounds on a broad range of indoor and outdoor applications, including PVC banners, selfadhesive vinyl, textiles and double-sided prints.

Printing at speeds up to 74 sqm hour in outdoor production mode and up to 45 sqm hour in indoor mode, the printer maintains quality print after print with 1200dpi HP Thermal Inkjet printheads, auto nozzle replacement, an optical media advance sensor (OMAS) as well as an embedded spectrophotometer.

The device also features the productivity benefits of third generation HP Latex technology, delivering prints that are completely dry and scratch-resistant immediately after printing. The new HP Indigo portfolio includes three sheet-fed presses, the HP Indigo 12000, 7900 and 5900 Digital Presses, the oversize B1-format duplex HP Indigo 50000 Digital Press, the HP Indigo WS6800p Digital Press for photo specialty applications as well as an improved HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press, now equipped for commercial applications. For flexible packaging and folding cartons segment HP has announced the HP Indigo 8000 Digital Press, the industry's most productive digital narrow web press, offering end-to-end label production at double the speed previously available.
The HP Indigo 8000, WS6800 and 20000 Digital Presses support HP Indigo ElectroInk Premium White, a versatile new ink that helps converters deliver a wider range of opacity levels. Additionally, the HP Indigo 8000, WS6800 and 20000 Digital Presses feature a new colour automation package that perfects colour accuracy, consistency and repeatability, enabling converters to reach any brand colour in minutes.

Expanding the High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) technology-powered HP PageWide Web Press portfolio, the new HP PageWide Web Presses T490 HD, T490M HD and T240 HD provide customers increased print quality and higher productivity than previously possible leading PSPs to transfer more high-value commercial print applications from offset to inkjet. HP will also demonstrate the new HP PrintOS, a cloud-based operating system that reinvents how customers manage print production. PrintOS is a cloudbased operating system ideal for PSPs of all segments and sizes for use with HP Indigo, PageWide Web Press, Scitex and Latex digital printing technology. Featuring a suite of intuitive web-based and mobile applications, PrintOS helps simplify and automate print production, enabling customers to start printing jobs, faster. Additionally, cloud connectivity allows customers to monitor print status remotely as well as track and improve production performance over time.
