The Government of India, through the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) under the
Ministry of Textiles, is taking significant steps to enhance the synergy between academia
and industry. This initiative aims to empower students with practical experience and industry
exposure, inviting industry leaders to contribute to making India a global textile leader once
again.
In a notable partnership, the NTTM has approved ColorJet Group, a manufacturer of wideformat
inkjet printers, to support innovation and skill development in the technical textiles
sector. This collaboration aligns with the mission's goal of positioning India as a leader in
technical textiles by providing internships to B.E/B.Tech students from the top 200 NIRFranked
colleges.
Under the Technical Textiles Internship Initiative, specifically the Grant for Internship Support
in Technical Textiles (GSIT) - 2.0, ColorJet Group's experienced R&D team will play a
crucial role in mentoring the next generation of engineers and professionals in technical
textiles. This initiative, part of Phase II of the Internship Initiation Program, aims to bridge the
gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements by offering practical
experiences to B.Tech students from various specialisations.
M.S. Dadu, Chairman of ColorJet Group, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to
collaborate with the Government of India on this initiative, emphasizing the company's dedication to fostering innovation and skill development. He highlighted the potential of
India's youth to advance the industry on a global scale.
The Technical Textiles Internship Initiative has several key objectives, including
strengthening the link between academia and industry, providing structured placements, and
exposing students to real-world technical challenges and managerial skills. Through this
initiative, ColorJet Group aims to familiarize students with the latest technological
developments, applications, and quality control in technical textile printing.
ColorJet Group's involvement is pivotal in driving research, innovation, and development
within the technical textiles sector. By nurturing a skilled workforce and promoting a culture
of innovation, the company is contributing significantly to the growth and global
competitiveness of India's technical textiles industry.
