Dolphin Graphics installs Durst Tau 330 RSC E

Pondicherry-based Dolphin Graphics has acquired its first digital printing press, a Durst Tau 340 RSC E LM for printing on blister foils and PVC among others for the pharma segment.

S Govindaraajan of Dolphin Graphics said, “We were traditionally printing using rotogravure technology. Recently we have seen huge interest in short to mid runs in our foils business, because of which we were looking for a digital press. After sampling with all major digital equipment suppliers we decided to invest in Durst, as their print quality, total cost of ownership was the best available in the market.”

Selvaraj Venkatesh, Managing Director of Newgen Printronics, said," Blister foils produced for pharma segment, need low migration inks which was a major advantage provided by Durst to Dolphin Graphics, who have bought this machine dedicatedly for this application. The configuration of their Tau RSC E machine is 340mm, 7 colours with low migration inks which has colour gamut of 95% and light fossilisation above 7. The machine has been supplied with Durst Workflow, Label Plus which aids in auto nozzle compensation for the print heads and will be able to produce at 53 m/min, which can be further upgraded to 80 m/min.

The press has been supplied by Newgen Printronics, the official partner for the Durst in India and Sri Lanka.
