Scodix has launched the Ultra 7000 SHD, the world’s first digital embellishment press
engineered specifically for rigid and corrugated substrates, opening a category of application
that has until now been largely inaccessible to digital finishing technology.
The press allows printers and converters to apply high-definition tactile finishes directly to
heavy-duty media including Dibond, acrylic, Forex, foam board, and corrugated board,
substrates that have historically been extremely difficult and labour-intensive to embellish.
The Ultra 7000 SHD is also compatible with the full range of existing Scodix-supported
substrates across diverse media weights, giving operators a single platform capable of
serving both established and entirely new application segments.
“The Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD represents a definitive milestone in our mission to digitize
embellishment for every segment of the print industry,” says Eli Grinberg, Scodix CEO and
co-founder. “We are creating a new category by bringing our SHD embellishment technology
to rigid substrates, and we are empowering printers to enter high-margin markets that were
previously unreachable, proving once again that Scodix leads where others follow.”
The launch marks a deliberate strategic expansion into the Signage and Display and
Corrugated Packaging sectors, where brands are under growing pressure to differentiate
products in competitive retail environments through premium, tactile finishes. High-value
applications include POS and POP displays, luxury corrugated packaging, and high-end
corporate graphics. By removing screen printing and metal dies from the embellishment
workflow, the press eliminates associated setup waste and supports more agile short-run
production, a tangible efficiency gain for converters managing increasingly fragmented order
volumes.
Moti Vaknin, VP Sales for EMEA and Global Channels, adds: “The feedback from our initial
pipeline has been extraordinary. Large-format producers and corrugated converters have
been searching for a way to differentiate in a sea of flat colour printing. The Ultra 7000 SHD
provides the ‘wow factor’ that brands crave, integrated into a digital workflow that meets the
speed and agility requirements of the modern market.”
Scodix is also introducing a visualisation tool that generates hyper-realistic previews of
embellishments on finished pieces, helping customers demonstrate the value of premium
tactile finishes to their clients.
