IPMEX Malaysia 2026 opens with focus on smart and sustainable printing

The 16th International Printing, Paper, Packaging Machinery Exhibition (IPMEX Malaysia 2026) opened at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, bringing together the printing, packaging, labelling, signage and textile-printing industries under the theme “Print Package Possibility.” The four-day event runs from 12–15 August 2026.

Organised by Kaizer Exhibitions & Conferences Sdn Bhd, the exhibition occupies 12,530 sq m and features 214 exhibitors, including 90 international and 124 Malaysian companies. Exhibitors from China, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, the United States and Malaysia are participating, while organisers expect around 13,389 trade visitors.

IPMEX Malaysia 2026 focuses strongly on automation, sustainability and digital transformation, with technologies spanning high-speed digital and variable-data printing, smart label production, flexible and corrugated packaging, pre- and post-press systems, UVLED printing, DTG and DTF solutions, automated visual inspection, interactive displays, and sustainable inks and materials.

The exhibition is being held alongside Sign Malaysia Exhibition, themed “LED Light Up the City”, with dedicated Label & Flexible Packaging and Textile Print zones. The integrated format allows visitors to explore technologies across the printing and packaging value chain, from substrates and production equipment to finishing, labels and visual communication.

Opening the exhibition, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Member of Parliament for Ayer Hitam and President of the Malaysian Chinese Association, highlighted the importance of helping SMEs adopt automation, AI-driven inspection, energy-efficient equipment and sustainable materials while developing workforce skills.

“IPMEX Malaysia 2026 is designed to move beyond a static machinery showcase. By bringing commercial printing, smart packaging, label production and visual signage into one sourcing environment, we aim to help regional businesses adopt automation, AI-enabled inspection, digital workflows and lower-waste production,” said Ms. Belle Yam, Managing Director of Kaizer Exhibitions & Conferences Sdn Bhd.

Featured technology providers include Epson, HP, Mimaki, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Kodak, Mutoh, Pulisi and STH Wire, among others. Business-matching programmes, live demonstrations and networking sessions are also being held to connect technology suppliers with printers, converters, brand owners, distributors and regional buyers. With its emphasis on smart production, shorter runs, personalised packaging, energy efficiency and lower-waste manufacturing, IPMEX Malaysia 2026 is positioning itself as an ASEAN platform for technology sourcing and business partnerships. The exhibition continues at MITEC until 15 August 2026.
